Sigma has announced, without indicating either the date of commencement of marketing in Europe, nor the price, the launch of a new version of its medium-telephoto zoom for Pentax and Sony digital SLR. The zoom, Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM is different from the model 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM due to the fact that there is no stabilizer (found in the Pentax and Sony camera bodies).
The new zoom lens has a construction that consists of 17 elements in 13 groups and a minimum aperture of f/22.
The zoom is a more professional (brightness f / 2.8 on the whole trip) hike to another model with the same brand, the popular Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8-4.5, which has a price equal to its about half that of the model f / 2.8.
