Simultaneously with the announcement of the newborn Canon EOS System and Canon EOS C300 founder of Cinema, the RED has unveiled its third body, the Scarlet Red X. The young California-based company, founded in 2005, has designed this camera with the intention to address both the photographer and the filmmaker.
In the RED site there is also a section dedicated to photography (red.com), with a long series of magazine covers made using the X or the previous Scarlet, Epic and One. But let’s see in detail the technical details of the last arrived:

The policy of RED is declared to “democratize the film and professional photography”, and in fact the RED Scarlet X will be available by mid-November at a price less than $ 10,000, which is exactly half of the expected price for the Canon EOS C300. It makes you think, therefore, that the contemporary ad is anything but random. But this is the competition, and competition always benefits the consumer, who hope to see increased performance and lower prices.
