The old “Boombox” is a design style that was common to see portable stereos in the eighties and nineties. The new iHome IP4 is its strong point of nostalgia and looks like a modernized version of those old dear and smooth plastic boxes, only instead of the tapes we have to make an iPhone.

iHome iP4The IP4, in fact, is a dock complete with speakers, also has additional input jacks for AUX, EQ LCD, FM tuner and even a useful mini remote control. You can forget about the forest of buttons typical of the old stereo, the IP4 is rather minimal – How modern tastes prefer. A more detailed “Eighties” is the rear housing for six flashlight batteries, a thing to be honest I did not think to see more in life. The vintage factor is very high, but practicality suffers, perhaps it would be more comfortable an internal rechargeable battery. I must say that the iPhone speaker for this period are truly special.

The cost is $ 200, whether it’s in black or in a much less simple hot pink that is so intense as to burn the official image (the gallery).
