Since its announcement did discuss the Pentax Q for its decision to adopt a CMOS sensor, backlit 1 / 2, 3”, or equal in size to those fitted in some compact. The small sensor size it creates some concern on the face of noise at high sensitivity and the possibility of having a good blur to remove the subject from the background.
The Pentax has just announced the commercialization in Italy with a retail price of 699 € (body + lens 8.5 mm). The price remains higher than the list price of similarly sized sensor cameras like the Canon G12, Nikon P7100, Panasonic LX5, Olympus XZ-1.
It is therefore questionable whether the having the ability to interchange lenses to justify the price difference of what today is still the smallest on the market mirrorless. Expect to see sales results to see whether or not this camera will be appreciated by photographers.
